Reverend William Thom Installed as First Minister of Alexandria’s Presbyterian Congregation

Coming just before the American Revolution, this moment reflected growing support for religious pluralism in Virginia—even as dissenting groups like Presbyterians still faced legal and social restrictions under colonial rule.
